Lets fact it folks, the squirrels than run rampant through our communities are not nearly as nice as say, cute fluffy white rabbits. I am sure most folks would prefer Sacramento (Davis too) to have bunnies running free instead of rabid little squirrels. One problem: The squirrels were here first. Another: Nice bunnies don't last.

Solution: Superbunnies

With todays marvels and bounds made in genetic engineering and breeding, we could produce super bunnies. Something along the order of:

White
Lop-eared
Sleep out of the ground (makes less mess than burrows)
Eats grass down to 1/2 inch (Grass is abundant here and always needs cutting anyways)
Likes people
Run in small packs
Hate squirrels
Carniverous

The last three attributes are the hardest to come up with, but the most crucial. If the rabbits are competing with squirrels for handout and environment, they must be able to take it by force. Bye engineering squirrel-antagonistic rabbits, we can more the squirrels out of the area and the rabbits in.

What a boon this would be for the city! Land values would go up with the idyllic setting free roaming bunny rabbits would provide. Gardening costs would plummet with these lawn-trimming rodents. I figure about $1 mil in research and development costs, along with a pretty hefty bar..er equipment cost. Hell, the state has paid for sillier things
