These are tragically outdated insofar as what I condider mildly interesting anymore, but a number of them still hold up remarkably well. Originally from mid-1999.
one Kevin Kelm's 76% Shinier Page--I am a big fan of the fucked up, as anyone who knows me will attest to. Geoff Dawe, upon seeing it, declared that "this guy is fucked up". Chris Piper said that "I must be getting older, this site offended me." The best of the site is Kevin's Oddly Different Story Time, though you should check the main page out; especially his plan for world domination. Graphically pleasing and nicely disturbing.
t w oGeorge Goble's Extended Home Page--Okay, the site looks like absolute shit, but you've got to admire the man. This guy decided to track down the ultimate BBQ starting method, and has gotten into using liquid oxygen. Yup, the same stuff that fuels the Space Shuttle. As anyone who remembers their fire triangle recalls, the three ingredients are heat, fuel, and oxygen. This guy is the ultimate engineer--no sense of the aesthetic, but a fine sense in how to over do things.
threeThe Infamous Exploding Whale--This page has been around for days, recently finding a new home a and a slightly more up-to-date look. Hank has this video tape which includes on it a report from either the late 70s or early 80s wherein the reporter is doing a story on a beached whale. There is a tone of impending doom, however, as the story unfolds. After packing the whale with dynamite(!), all goes badly: God did not intend whales to fly. The page has a few stills, but the jewel in the crown here is the 10MB movie of the story. The postage-stamp sized image doesn't really do it justice (you miss something in the fact that you can't quite see the rain of whale parts), but should whet your appetite.
fourLVs KoHage--You ever have one of those jokes that you find funny, but no one else does? This is how this site is with me. I can't put my finger upon it, but a Swedish site on cow tipping just tickles me. The animated banner on the top is damned funny, and it doesn't hurt that it is in Swedish, which is kinda goofy looking in the first place.
fiveglassdog.com--I've always admired someone who can pull off nice, clean design that degrades gracefully and looks nice on a wide selection of browsers, since it's just next to a hurculean task. Glassdog has gone under a number of site changes, and each one is nicer than the next. They've got a nice section on web design there as well.
sixthatguy.com--I have no idea how I came across this site, but its got some worthy content. Perhaps the best is this illustration of the naughty contained on the Land-o-Lakes packaging. My definition of what's really funny is that it should contain a liberal dose of that factor which makes you ask "What the fuck?!" This site certainly has doses of that smattered about.
sevenHome Appliance Shooting--As anyone who has taken a gun plinking knows, bigger is better. We once had opportunity to take down a toilet and urinal that had been donated to us (they were coming right at us!). Now that was good fun. This dude has managed to destroy a number of home appliances and computer components. While the pictures are not quite as clear as one might like, it does fire the imagination: "Give me a GPF fault now, motherfucker!"
eightDead People Server--The Dead People Server is a monster compendium designed to answer the question "is so-and-so dead, or what"? Its is a fairly detailed source, listing what the person is best known for and what the end was for them, or current status if still alive.
nineWeb Pages That Suck--The indispensable guide to web-kitsch. The Web Pages That Suck site has since become a book, with plugs-o-plenny on the site, but the content is still very firm. A bunch of details on how not to look like a poseur on a global basis.
tencruel.com--A daily dose of evil little sites such as "Jesus is Gother Than You", "Rate your risk of being murdered" and "Porn Star or My Little Pony?" A good time will be had by all. Cruel.com updates daily during the business week, off on major holidays. An archive reaching back a number of months is kept too. Almost better than Mirsky's (better, actually, since Mirsky's is no more)!

Back to some truly worthy content.
