Concept & Design: March 23, 2001. January 2002. My friends and I had this wild-assed dream of moving off to Tuscany, thowing in the towel. That was in March, well before the tenor of American life became revealed as it did. I like Northern California just fine, but I'm pretty sure I could be pretty content living in a villa out somewhere between Rome and Florence.
